Schools in Jordan

No institution is described here as universally "the best". Each list states the criteria behind it, and the right choice depends on the student's objective. Criteria applied:

• Curriculum and language — The single most consequential choice: national, American, British, IB or a dual-curriculum model.
• Recognition where you are going next — A diploma is only useful if the next system accepts it.
• Learning support — The scope, staffing and eligibility criteria of learning-support provision determine whether a specific child can be accommodated.
• Class size and teacher continuity — Ask for current figures, not the brochure average.
• Transport and commute — In Amman, commute time is a material part of a child's school day.
• Total cost — 授業料 plus registration, capital levies, transport, uniforms, materials, trips and examinations.
• Accreditation and authorisation — Confirm current status directly with the school and, where relevant, the authorising body.
• Admission reality — Whether places exist in your child's year group, and whether an entrance assessment is used.
