Universities in Jordan

No institution is described here as universally "the best". Each list states the criteria behind it, and the right choice depends on the student's objective. Criteria applied:

• Official recognition category — Public, private, special-law, university college — per the Ministry's published lists.
• Programme accreditation — Separate from institution recognition; decisive in medicine, dentistry, engineering, pharmacy, nursing and law.
• Subject strength in your field — Departments diverge from institutional reputation. Ask about the specific department.
• Language of instruction — Confirm the language for your programme — and for each year of it.
• Location and cost of living — Amman, Irbid and the smaller university cities differ materially in cost and daily experience.
• International student support — Housing eligibility, language support and orientation for your student category.
• Ranking position, where it exists — Always quoted with provider and edition, never presented as a fixed property.
• Total cost — Tuition plus accommodation, transport, materials and any clinical or laboratory charges.
