Education in Jordan
Student Life in Jordan
The practical and human side of studying in Jordan — a structural guide with official sources.
In short
Housing, commute time, cost, food, social life and the language environment you actually live in shape the student experience at least as much as the curriculum does. In Jordan these differ sharply between Amman and the university cities.
Why it matters as much as the programme
Housing, commute time, cost, food, social life and the language environment you actually live in shape the student experience at least as much as the curriculum does. In Jordan these differ sharply between Amman and the university cities.
The short version
Amman offers the widest choice, the largest international community and the best cultural infrastructure — at the highest cost and with the most English around you. Irbid is student-dominated and markedly cheaper, and it is harder to avoid using Arabic in daily life. Karak, Mafraq, Tafila and Ma’an are smaller, cheaper and more traditional.
Where to go next
The Student Life section covers accommodation, transport, healthcare, internet and banking, food and culture, and activities, with a dedicated education guide for each governorate.
